A thicket of self-doubt
A dampness spreads
sunny hope bereft
mildew layered dreams
Dreams hang limp
On a day sun-charged
Dreams –
Sodden leaves squelch
Under feet
On a day sun-thrilled
When you go digging
For the bones of a dead past
Leave my deathly still dreams alone
They might wake up to new life
When no one skirts their spaces
With suspicion
